Arch Enemy Arts is
excited to announce, Semiotic Weapons, a study of signs
and symbolism by 11 artists who help define Philadelphia's new
contemporary art scene.
The roster includes some the biggest names in Philly, NoseGo, Paul Romano, Michael Michael Motorcycle, Kukula, JoKa, Kat Gun, Heather Gargon, Robert Kraiza, Genevive Zacconi, Chris B. Murray, and David Seidman. Work covers a wide range of mediums from oils and acrylics, charcoal and graphite work, digital painting, sculpture, and tapestry, each piece representing the individual artist's exploration of signs, symbolism, and metaphor.
Also opening will be My Famine, a new collection of work by Scott Kirschner. Scott's work is evocative of old fairy tales; dark, magical, and full of hidden meaning. My Famine tells the story of his childhood, family, and upbringing, as is his largest and most cohesive collection of work to date.
The extra long show will run from July 12th through September 1st, kicking off with a free and open to the public reception on Friday July 12th, from 6-10 PM. A second evening event will also be held on First Friday, August 2nd.
